Thank You, 2019!

Thank You, 2019!

Happy New Year!

Reflection is an important tool for growth and so when we looked back over the events  & happenings at Towne Fitness, 2019, we realized that this was a really great year for so many in our #gymfam.

The addition of Rachel Murray RHN to our team of professionals was a great start. Rachel brought with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in the holistic nutrition field. The addition of Rachels’ expertise to our popular 12 Week Results Challenge was definitely a win. Her in-house Workshops, Mind Body Spirit Transformation 6 Week Challenge and client consultations also proved to be added value to our membership and we are excited that she will continue to offer her services this year as well.

Education is key and with that owner, Jeff Sine completed the McGill Levels 1, 2, 3 as well as McGill Method 2 Assessment Converging on Precise Diagnosis. Also known as Back Mechanics, Jeffs’ classes played an essential role in strengthening the backs of many chronic back pain sufferers. If you want to get out of the waiting room and back into an active lifestyle, be sure to incorporate Jeff’s classes into your weekly routine.

Over the Summer months our Seasonal In-turn Program returned with two young fitness enthusiasts; Adrianna Ricci and Jill Alcanar. The girls brought new workouts that challenged our members and pushed them to work harder. What a pleasure it was to watch them put their own personal spin on the classes and help improve fitness level of our members. We look forward to running this program again in 2020.

New faces also appeared on the teaching roster as we expanded our Yoga Classes with Robbie King and Penny Leimbrock bringing Yoga to Friday nights. Again, each teacher has their own style and we are happy to continue with Yoga offering a practice on Thursday morning with Olivia Lloyd and another on Friday night with Penny Leimbrock. Two opportunities in one week for our members to benefit from this ancient form of physical fitness.

We are big on “Workshops” at Towne Fitness and so 2019 definitely had a good many of them on the calendar with a focus on fitness and nutrition. With the exception of one workshop, The Basics of Kombucha, Kefir and Sauerkraut, all of our workshops were FREE and were open to the community. Once again, education is key and so offering these workshops was a great way to educate our membership on relevant topics as well as provide a general refresher for fitness goals. In addition to Rachel Murray RHN,  both Dr. Monique Petricone and Dr. Richard Magder of Shelburne Family Chiropractic presented workshops throughout the year and we look forward to expanding the topics this year.

Our ever popular Towne Fitness 12 Week Results Challenge continued through the year with great results achieved. This program just keeps getting better!  The launch of our very first “Your Personal Best, 6 Week Intensive Mind Body Spirit Transformation” was also a success. The results of the participants being a true testament to both of these programs and as a result they will be offered again this year. Dates will soon be announced.

Owner, and Personal Trainer, Hannah Sine was awarded the Reader’s Choice Gold award for Best Personal Trainer,  Dufferin County for the second year in a row! As well as leading classes and training clients in the gym Hannah also worked with clients off-site and presented to several local groups & teams.

Our Towne Fitness Runners had a phenomenal year as we saw an increase in the number of gym members [and non-gym members] participating in running programs and races. With a fresh influx of beginners and the desire of existing runners to include new distances and races, the #townefitnessrunners truly had a big year of podium finishes, further distances covered and general overall improvement. This year we had first time; half marathoners, marathoners and ultra-marathoners! What a year! What an amazing group of people supporting and cheering one another.  No matter what the distance whether it be a casual run around town or a race, they were there for one another.

Project #INSPIRATION was launched in May with members being invited to nominate some one they felt deserving of recognition for inspiring others in the gym by their actions and words. We were overwhelmed with the number of nominations and the stories shared to support the nomination. Be sure to read their stories on the #INSPIRATION wall.

Finally, our very first community event was a huge success with the launch of the Towne Fitness “Festival of Lights & Ugly Sweater Run”! With the support of our #townefitness runners and local business’s; Crewson Insurance Brokers, Shelburne Fire Department, CREW Mechanical, Shelburne Family Chiropractic, Bryan Graham Real Estate and the Conley Family, $1,300 was raised for Family Transition Place. A huge congratulations to all of our participants and supporters.

2020 marks the ‘8th’ year serving the fitness needs of the town of Shelburne and surrounding area. We are proud of the community that our membership has built over the past 7 years and are excited to improve and grow our services. Stay tuned for new classes and programs to be launched this year, providing you the opportunity to live your best life!

Thank you for helping shape Towne Fitness into what it is today. An all-inclusive facility that supports the health and wellness of a growing community.
